An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive live-in couple to manage and maintain a beautiful private country residence in rural Hertfordshire.

This varied, hands-on role combines housekeeping, property and grounds maintenance, animal care, driving, and support for the owners’ lifestyle and entertaining requirements. Flexibility is essential, as the position will include some evening and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and general household management
  • Preparing the property for guests and entertaining
  • Running errands and shopping
  • Coordinating contractors and service providers
  • Grounds, garden, and basic property maintenance
  • Vehicle cleaning and upkeep
  • Dog walking when required
  • Occasional driving, including airport and station transfers
  • Light cooking and assistance with small dinner parties
  • Providing security and acting as keyholders

About You

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and discreet
  • Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Organised and able to work independently
  • Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed
  • Hold clean driving licences
  • Previous experience within a private household, estate, or rural environment is desirable.

Package

  • Salary: £70,000 per annum (couple)
  • Self-contained one-bedroom cottage on site
  • Utilities included; rent £25 per month
  • 30 days’ holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Auto-enrolment pension scheme
