Ceres Group Respond To: UK Land Use Framework Consultation

The UK Government recently consulted on a Land Use Framework for England, seeking views on how land can be used to balance competing demands including food production, environmental outcomes and development.

Ceres Group submitted a public response during the consultation phase, drawing on our experience across the rural economy to provide practical, evidence-based insight.

Our response focuses on:

  • The need for a flexible, strategic framework that reflects the realities on the ground
  • Supporting multifunctional land use to deliver both environmental and food production outcomes
  • Ensuring economic and environmental resilience across the sector
  • The importance of collaboration across government and with land managers
  • Providing long-term policy certainty to enable investment and planning

We welcome the opportunity to contribute to this important national conversation and help shape a fair and sustainable land use transition.
