MKH Farming, has greatly benefited from having Louise Penn at Ceres Rural as our agronomist. In growing our cereal, legume and cover crops, her tailored, strategic approach ensures she fully understands our goals and adapts her recommendations accordingly. Louise has embraced cutting-edge technology like Terramap soil analysis and the Omnia crop management system, using these tools to create precise variable seed rate, nitrogen and base fertiliser plans, which have significantly enhanced the targeting and justification of inputs.

Louise has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure our farm stays ahead in sustainable practices, combining technical knowledge with practical solutions that have both agronomic and financial benefits.

Alex Hall’s advice over the last four years has consistently been positive, worthwhile and rewarding. He has a vast knowledge of all agronomy facts, and is always open to discuss options and other concerns  in a friendly, pleasant and understandable manner.

I started working with Will Davies in July 2022, he quickly got to grips with the complexities of the farm’s role in the wider Estate business, along with the varied soil types and wide range of crops. ​

The two cropping seasons that Will has been involved in here at Ragley have been difficult to say the least, with the cropping plan changing on a regular basis, spray windows being missed due to weather and outputs being below average. Our wide range of crops and the Estate’s desire to farm as sustainably as possible adds to the challenges. Will is flexible in his approach to cropping and inputs, using his extensive knowledge to adapt input usage to suit the situation and crop potential.  ​

Will has been heavily involved in putting together our CSS and SFI agreements, finding a great balance between maximising the benefits of both schemes and the aims of the Estate.
