Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive skilled arable operator who will have the autonomy to carry out the day-to-day operations on our mixed farm. Our farm comprises predominantly arable farmland with cropping including cereals, oilseed rape and potatoes. Alongside the arable enterprise we have a 40 strong herd of Hereford suckler cows. The farm also has diversified enterprises to include self-storage containers and a dog walking field.

The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach and be proactive to oversee all aspects of the farm work and assist with the livestock and other enterprises on the farm. Being enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and a self-starter is key to being successful in this role.

The farm has modern machinery and includes a Claas Lexion 650 (25ft), Sands self-propelled sprayer, New Holland T7 270, Valtra T235, 5 furrow plough, a 4m combination drill and a John Deere Gator (on tracks) with avadex applicator.

Key Responsibilities

All farm work including combining, spraying and general tractor work as well as assisting with the management of the suckler herd feeding and welfare.

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Spraying tickets – PA1, PA2, PA4 and PA6.
  • BASIS & FACTS desirable but training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
