Tim Isaac has joined the expanding team at Ceres Rural, the independent rural consultancy established earlier this year to give independent advice to farmers and landowners across the south and east of England.

Mr Isaac, who was previously Knowledge Exchange Director at AHDB, is based at the company’s Saffron Walden office, where his role includes consultancy and project work.

After eight and a half years with AHDB and formerly the CLA, Mr Isaac brings a wealth of experience to his new position and will be involved in developing the progressive and innovative solutions that are needed for both the challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Having been instrumental in the development of the Monitor Farm network and the Farm Excellence platform at AHDB, he has worked with the wider industry to learn, share and create ideas that make real on-farm change.

At such a pivotal time for the farming industry and with the transition period already underway, his in-depth knowledge complements the breadth of expertise in the existing Ceres Rural team.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr Isaac stressed that he was delighted to become part of the Ceres Rural success story and was looking forward to making an impact on the solutions and services that the company delivers.

“The need for independent advice on rural business issues has never been greater,” he says. “Joining a company that focuses on that and works with some of the most forward-looking businesses around is an exciting step.”

Will Gemmill, executive partner at Ceres Rural, says that Tim Isaac’s appointment will further the company’s ability to make a difference to the future of rural businesses.

“Facing such a rapid pace of change, while also coming under environmental and financial pressure, means that important decisions are having to be made by farmers and landowners on a daily basis,” he notes.

“Tim’s enthusiasm for helping to deliver the information and advice that’s required, along with his experience in doing so, makes him the perfect fit for our specialist team.”
