Harvest labour shortages and management pressure are nothing new — but the consequences of getting it wrong have never been higher. Our Harvest Support Programme is designed to give you reliable, capable people on farm, without adding to your workload at the busiest time of year.

Delivered by Ceres Rural, this service removes the hassle of recruitment, screening and preparation, allowing you to focus on running the operation while we take care of the people side.

How Does It Work?

We manage the full process from start to finish, ensuring only suitable, prepared candidates reach your shortlist.

  1. Candidate Applications
Individuals apply directly to the programme, providing details of their experience, skills and any location preferences.
  2. Screening & Referencing
Every applicant is reviewed by our team, with experience assessed and references checked before progressing further.
  3. Central Induction Day
Approved candidates attend a Ceres Rural–led induction day, where they are prepared for harvest work and briefed on expectations, safety and professionalism.
  4. Matching & Shortlisting
Based on your farm’s requirements, location and workload, we match and shortlist the most suitable candidates.
  5. Your Selection
You review the shortlisted profiles, interview if required, and select the candidate(s) you want on farm. Placements are then confirmed.

It’s a controlled, transparent process — designed to reduce risk and remove uncertainty.

Why Choose Our Harvest Support Programme?

Save Time and Reduce Stress

All workers arrive having completed a central induction covering:

  • Health and safety awareness
  • Basic first aid
  • Harvest operations, roles and expectations

This means fewer questions, less supervision pressure, and people who are ready to contribute from day one.

Simple and Transparent

We handle the advertising, pre-interviews and screening. You are presented with a clear shortlist of suitable candidates — no sifting through CVs, no wasted conversations.

Straightforward Pricing

A single fee of £500 + VAT covers:

  • Candidate induction
  • Screening and referencing
  • Matching and finder’s fee

There are no hidden extras, giving you cost certainty at a critical time of year.

Independent and Farm-Focused

As an independent consultancy, our priority is your operation — not filling quotas or pushing volume. Quality, suitability and reliability come first.

What Can the Harvest Workers Do?

Candidates are shortlisted specifically to meet your needs, but as a general guide, most will be capable of supporting with:

  • Day-to-day farm tasks
  • Grain carting, trailer work and harvest logistics
  • Basic machinery maintenance and clean-down
  • Assisting with cultivations where appropriate

This flexible support helps keep harvest moving and takes pressure off your core team.

Harvest Support You Can Rely On

Our Harvest Support Programme gives farm managers confidence that the people arriving on farm are prepared, vetted and suitable — saving you time, reducing risk and helping you stay in control during the most demanding period of the year.
