The Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) fund has now been extended for a further three years and will now run until March 2029. So far the fund has allocated £4.5 million to over 170 projects.

FiPL is available in National Landscapes (formerly AONBs), National Parks and the Broads. The programme funds one‑off projects that:

  • Support nature recovery
  • Mitigate the impacts of climate change
  • Provide opportunities for people to discover, enjoy and understand the landscape and its cultural heritage
  • Protect or improve the quality and character of the landscape or place

The scheme is deliberately non‑prescriptive, and projects are judged on a case-by-case basis.

Grants are available of up to £250,000 per project. Funding can support both capital and revenue costs, with up to 100% of costs covered in exceptional cases.

There is no fixed minimum grant size; value for money is assessed based on outcomes rather than scale.

Cotswolds National Landscape are accepting expressions of interest for the 2026–29 funding allocation. Contact:

Advisor support is available throughout the application and claims process, as well as throughout the project itself.

Eligibility criteria and guidance for applicants can be found here.
