Edward Lyon

Edward’s passion for farming began with livestock, helping with his grandparents’ beef herd and keeping his own flock of breeding sheep at home in North Yorkshire.

He worked his first full harvest and cultivation season as soon as he passed his tractor test, aged 16, continuing throughout his studies at Bishop Burton College and Newcastle University, where he graduated with a BSc (hons) in Agriculture. Keen to widen his knowledge of different farming systems, these harvest seasons latterly included three in Wiltshire and one in Western Australia - all driving a Claas Lexion combine.

As he begins his career in farming consultancy, Edward is working towards his BASIS and Facts qualifications.

Outside of work, Edward enjoys working on his Land Rover, shooting, running, rugby and getting back behind the wheel of a tractor whenever the opportunity arises.
